The Bihar Police Sub-ordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) has announced the recruitment for Sub-Inspector Prohibition (Advt No 03/2026). To secure a post, candidates must clear a rigorous selection process involving a Preliminary Written Exam, a Main Written Exam, and a Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Selection Process

The recruitment process consists of the following stages:

  1. Preliminary Examination: Objective Type (Qualifying in nature).
  2. Main Examination: Two Papers (Paper I: General Hindi, Paper II: General Studies).
  3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Run, High Jump, Long Jump, Shot Put.
  4. Medical Examination.

Stage 1: Preliminary Examination Pattern

The Prelims exam is qualifying. Candidates must score at least 30% to avoid disqualification. The marks obtained here are not counted for the final merit list.

Stage 2: Main Examination Pattern

The Mains exam consists of two papers. Paper I is qualifying, while Paper II determines the merit.

  • Current Events: National & International News, Sports, Awards, Summits, Books & Authors.

Mains Paper I (Hindi):

  • Vocabulary, Grammar, Sentence Correction, Synonyms/Antonyms, Comprehension (Qualifying only).

Mains Paper II (General Studies):

  • General Science: Physics, Chemistry, Biology (10th/12th Level).
  • Indian History: Ancient, Medieval, Modern India.
  • Indian Geography: Physical, Social, Economic Geography.
  • Civics/Polity: Constitution, Governance, Political System.
  • Mathematics: Arithmetic, Number System, Profit Loss, Ratio, etc.
  • Mental Ability: Reasoning, Logic, Series, Coding-Decoding.

Stage 3: Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Candidates selected from Mains (6 times the vacancies) will appear for PET. This stage is qualifying in nature; no marks are awarded.
