Western Railway Apprentice Selection Process 2026
Candidates applying for theΒ Western Railway Trade Apprentice Recruitment 2026Β (Notification No. RRC/WR/04/2025) must note thatΒ there is no written examination or viva-voceΒ for this recruitment. The selection is based entirely on the Merit List prepared by the Railway Recruitment Cell.

Merit List Calculation Formula
The Railway Recruitment Cell Western Region prepares a merit list by taking the average of percentage marks obtained in:
- Class 10the should be passed with minimum 50 percent marks.
- Marks obtained in relevant trade in ITI, it should be NCVT approved.
The Formula:
Final Score = ( % Marks in 10th + % Marks in ITI ) / 2
Note: For 10th Class, total marks of ALL subjects mentioned in the marksheet will be considered, not just the ‘Best of Five’.
Tie-Breaking Rules
In case two candidates secure the exact same percentage in the merit calculation, the following rules apply:
- The older the candidate the higher priority will be given preference.
- if both of the candidates have same age then which candidate passed matriculation earlier will be considered in priority.
Document Verification
Selected candidates will be called for Document Verification process. You must produce the original copies of:
- SSC (10th) Marksheet & Certificate (Proof of Date of Birth).
- Consolidated ITI Marksheet (All Semesters).
- National Trade Certificate (NTC) issued by NCVT.
- Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC) in Central Govt Format.
- Disability Certificate (if applicable).
- Medical Fitness Certificate (Annexure G).
